The Institute of Aerospace Instruments and Systems is a recognized center both in Russia and the rest of the world, aimed for the training of certified specialists in the fields of modern instrumentation, motion control and navigation systems, advanced aerospace information systems, technology of transport processes and system analysis. Well-known scientific schools and research in the field of instrumentation, aerodynamics and flight dynamics of aircraft, ensuring the safety of mobile objects, satellite monitoring, processing systems, information, technical diagnostics, creating small-sized aircraft and ensuring their safe navigation are the basis of partnerships with colleagues from around the world. The modern educational, methodological and practical (laboratory) base of the Institute includes the use of advanced learning technologies in the educational process, allows students to conduct applied research, create and lead projects to participate in notable professional exhibitions and competitive tournaments.

It is impossible to imagine the modern world without satellite navigation systems, television and communication systems, without computers and information networks, without high-quality audio and video equipment.

Graduates of the Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Communications are well versed in all this diversity. They can carry out the design, manufacture, repair and maintenance of all this equipment, without which life is unthinkable today.

Institute of Cyberphysical Systems

 

The Institute provides training in the field of intelligent control systems for technical facilities, innovative technologies in general, industrial and special power engineering, thermonuclear physics, electromechanical and robotics systems, energy and resource conservation.

Institute of Fundamental Training and Technological Innovations

 

The Institute is aimed at the implementation of the highest level of professional education for the further training of students in the master’s degree programs in the main technical and management areas of training at the University. For this purpose, the University has organized a system of end-to-end training of bachelors and masters. The students of the Institute are focused on research and management activities in various branches of science, industry, and business. The training at the Institute is conducted in accordance with the needs of the leading companies of St. Petersburg, whose scientists and specialists actively participate in the educational process.

A distinctive feature of the Institute is the close connection of fundamental training in mathematics and physics with specialized training and orientation to solving urgent problems of creating the latest technology, competitive science–intensive products, taking into account environmental requirements and norms.

The Institute provides fundamental training in physics and mathematics, mechanics and quality management, technosphere safety, metrology, innovation and applied mathematics, which are reinforced by courses of management theory, economics, as well as by theoretical and practical disciplines on quality management of industrial products and services, and management of knowledge-intensive innovations.

SUAI Engineering school

 

The task of the Engineering School is to bring the training of engineering personnel to a new level, to build effective relationships between education, science and industry.

The training model is based on project work in small groups and solving real industrial problems. We cooperate with companies that develop modern high-tech products, train students and introduce innovative technological solutions with their participation. This means that we are looking for scientific or engineering projects for our students that become part of their master’s program.

The goal of the Engineering School is to form a set of key competencies for students to work in high–tech industries.

    The main goal of the Technological Entrepreneurship Laboratory is to involve students in entrepreneurial activity with the prospect of creating their own technological business or implementing an innovative solution on the site of an industrial partner

  • Internet of Things Laboratory

    The Internet of Things Laboratory is a unique educational space under the direct supervision of technology partners who involve students in real tasks of implementing IoT technology in various fields and developing model educational solutions in various concepts: smart city, smart agriculture, smart manufacturing, etc

  • Robotics Laboratory

    The Robotics Laboratory trains specialists of various levels in the areas of mobile and industrial robotics, participates in the integration of industrial robotics complexes at enterprises and educational institutions, develops various solutions in the field of production automation

  • Laboratory of Unmanned Aircraft Systems

    The Laboratory allows students to solve certain full-cycle tasks, from the assembly of a quadcopter to the study of its flight characteristics, autonomous control of unmanned aircraft systems for solving applied transport and other tasks. The laboratory consists of two parts:
    — Simulation, design and configuration of unmanned aircraft systems and their payloads area
    — The installation area equipped with modern computers for modeling components and assemblies of unmanned systems and software for calibration of drones

  • Artificial Intelligence Laboratory

    The Artificial Intelligence Laboratory is developing various complexes of technological solutions that allow simulating human cognitive functions (including self-learning and finding solutions without a predetermined algorithm) and obtaining results comparable, at least, with the results of human intellectual activity when performing specific tasks

  • Joint SUAI-Infowatch Cybersecurity Laboratory

    The Laboratory trains specialists in the field of software development in various fields of application, conducts educational and career guidance events, develops various solutions in the field of information and cybersecurity, gamification of education

  • Laboratory of Electrical Power Engineering

    The main goal of the Laboratory is to search and develop new solutions in the field of energy efficiency, improving the quality and productivity of energy resources, modernization and digitalization of the industry, introduction and synthesis of computer and intelligent technologies, integration of the obtained research and development results into the process of practice-oriented training of students

  • Laboratory of New Production Technologies

    Employees and technological partners of the Laboratory are engaged in the development and implementation of digital technologies in production, as well as research in the field of process control systems of enterprises. The main goal of the laboratory is the search and development of new solutions in the field of the fourth industrial revolution “Industry 4.0”

  • Cognitive Research Laboratory

    The main mission of the laboratory is to research and teach students the principles of implementing cognitive science in the design of cyber physiological systems, databases for training artificial intelligence based on natural human cognitive activity, as well as the study of neuro– and myo interfaces and human interaction with information environments

  • Machine Learning Laboratory

    The Machine Learning Laboratory is engaged in the development, application of machine learning methods and algorithms in various fields (in computer vision, natural language processing, data analysis, and others), as well as the application of these methods and algorithms in real projects and tasks

  • Laboratory of eSports and Gamification of Education

    The Laboratory is engaged in the training of eSports athletes, the organization of eSports competition, as well as the study and improvement of educational methods using game mechanics and modern achievements in game design

  • Engineering Garage

    Engineering Garage is a special department for the development of scientific creativity of students and school students. Here, future scientists and inventors receive at their disposal not only the most modern equipment, but also engineering and educational support from experienced mentors. Project participants solve practical real-life tasks formulated by representatives of the industry of St. Petersburg

  • Power Machines – SUAI Student Design Bureau

    The bureau trains students in the field of design and modeling of electrical machine components. Modern NX Siemens and Teamcenter software is used to train students, which is used by most large companies engaged in the production of electric machines

  • UNICUMMOTORS – SUAI Educational Factory for Electric Charging Stations

    This Educational Factory was created as a response to the challenge of developing electric transport infrastructure in Russia. The Factory’s activities are focused on practical training of students on the example of a real small innovative production of electric charging stations for electric vehicles and the development of electric charging infrastructure in general

  • The lecture course of the Engineering School

    Is a series of specialized lectures, workshops, seminars from leading experts of partner enterprises and highly qualified specialists of the Engineering School. The events are dedicated to such areas of technology and technology development as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, the Internet of Things, New Production Technologies, 3D modeling, Robotics, Information Security and Cybersecurity, Electric Power, Unmanned Aircraft Systems
