The university has created a radio-optical monitoring system for various emergencies

The Machine Learning Laboratory of the SUAI Engineering School has developed a universal multi-position radio-optical monitoring system

The development is irreplaceable as a monitoring device on small aircraft. It will allow to detect objects during emergencies, including the ones in the sea, forests and on ice fields.

– The main feature of this system is the use of new information processing algorithms that allow you to take into account the specifics of the complex and combine data from onboard radar and optical systems. Synthesized algorithms allow detecting small physical objects on various surfaces. It is worth noting that the system is capable of operating in the presence of intense industrial interference, said Vadim Nenashev, head of the Machine Learning laboratory at the SUAI Engineering School.

The scientific novelty of the research lies in the development of multi-position and multi-sensor systems of high-precision environmental monitoring. These systems are based on complex processing of information from various sources, its integration into a single information field and assessment of the state of the observed zone.

Further research suggests new algorithms for processing large amounts of data using artificial intelligence for the prompt prevention of natural and man-made emergencies.
