An Educational Factory for Digital Technologies in Industry was opened in SUAI

On February 26, an Educational Factory for Digital Technologies in Industry was opened at St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation within the framework of the Priority 2030 program

The Educational Factory opened on the basis of the Laboratory of New Production Technologies of the SUAI Engineering School in cooperation with JSC Obukhov Plant — the largest production site of the Almaz-Antey concern in St. Petersburg, the city-forming enterprise and a long-time partner of SUAI. The opening of the joint educational factory was a continuation and a new stage of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The main goals and objectives of the Educational Factory are the development and implementation of industrial digital processes in production with consideration of the tasks of ensuring technological independence in the field of mechanical engineering. Thanks to the new form of cooperation, new educational programs will be developed in the areas required by the plant, scientific research will be conducted in close cooperation with the enterprise. It also provides for the renewal of engineering training and the creation of an attractive environment for talented young people. The prospects include the creation of a center for unmanned transport systems, a center for robotics and instrumentation, and a center for modeling technological processes and industries.
